What is eikaiwa?
Eikaiwa (英会話) means English conversation. In Japan there are schools specifically for helping people work on their English conversation skills. These are called eikaiwa schools or eikaiwa gakkou (英会話学校). (Click here to read more about eikaiwa and eikaia schools.)
I don’t teach at an eikaiwa school, but I do teach eikaiwa-style classes in the evenings. These are classes for adults in the local community who are interested in learning English and improving their skills. There are three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
This section of my blog is for my students who are taking my eikaiwa classes. I upload all my notes and materials for class here. Feel free to use these materials for your own English studies! If you have any questions or comments, leave a comment or contact me on my Contact page.
